I raced in SPORT because I had to go the airport at 1:30 to pick up Pam, I am not complaining because this course is Nasty. The gun goes off & they send us down through the parking lots all the way to far east end of the Afton Alps to b reak up the group--Good idea because next comes the the bridge loop of single track.
In the SPORT div. there was around 170 peeps of all sorts of abilities & bikes that were in a all sorts of shape. Some people were breaking on down hills, corners not positioning their bodies correctly on climbs & slipping out. Basically on the first loop it was a CONGA LINE. Passing people on the sides of the trail causes people to accidently go down like I did & groups went by.
