Pam & myself went to the
WORS ChippewaValley Firecracker in Eau Claire, WI for the 6th race of the WORS series. The same race last year that I got cut-off at the 1st corner & ended up with 12 stitches. This year they changed that
"Exact Corner" not to be 90 degrees but too slowly turn!! This year I rode the rigid ORBEA Alma rigid 29'r so I could blast on the flats & up the steep/short climbs. The bike did its job because the first 1 mile of dirt road I was 6-7 off the front of the pack. When we went into the woods of 5 miles of single track the only negative item was with rigid carbon fork it was a bit bumpy over the roots/rocks. I was behind these 2 guys who were not in my age bracket so I asked if I could pass at the next opening--so I did. I was flying too fast & on the hard right I went into it too strong & slid out!! They passed me back so I had to start all over again and only got 1 of them back--DAM

2 out of 23 in age
10th out of 222 peeps--Over All
